Medical readiness includes basic trauma skills, recognition of useful plants, careful stockpiling of remaining effective antibiotics, and rigorous sanitation practices that prevent disease rather than merely treating it after the fact. Security is better approached as shared neighborhood awareness than as isolated fortification. A pure fortress invites isolation and eventual targeting. Psychological resilience may prove the hardest capacity to cultivate. The ability to accept lower material standards without collapsing into despair. Finding purpose outside continuous consumption.
