Those steps will not all happen on the same day. Some may take longer than optimists expect.

What matters more than any single date is whether the project maintains momentum through the inevitable quiet periods. Technical development, legal discussions, and institutional conversations often move at different speeds. Keeping all three tracks advancing in parallel is the real management challenge.

From the outside it is easy to focus only on the announcement. Concrete bilateral or regional problems, regulated assets, and institutional-grade infrastructure appear to be the combination that is gaining traction.

For observers watching the evolution of digital payments in Asia, the Japan-Korea corridor is worth tracking precisely because it is specific. Success or failure here will teach clearer lessons than a vague multi-currency platform that tries to serve everyone at once.

Project Musubi does not claim to have already transformed Japan-Korea payments. It is still in the design and testing phase. Test tokens come first. Regulated stablecoins come later, when the law allows. Expansion beyond the original corridor is a future ambition rather than a present commitment.
